A fallen tree has completely and spectacularly destroyed two bridges, leading to the much-used footpath from Batcombe to Spargrove being closed.
Intrepid walkers have created a simple unofficial diversion a few metres to the north, which is obvious on the ground, so the route is still walkable.
The closure affects the following walks on this site: Batcombe, the Long Way Round, Batcombe and it Bottom, and several of the Batcombe and Spargrove Pick and Mix routes. The walks themselves have not been updated.
